Thanks to some heavy redacting and a tight-lipped suspect, the Seattle Police Department is currently embroiled in what I’m calling “The Mystery of the Man on the Boat.”Shortly before 2 a.m. July 30, a couple sleeping on their boat in the marina off the 2400 block of Westlake Avenue North awoke to the sound of someone on their boat, according to the police report for the incident.The couple’s boat is located at the end of the dock, which is behind a metal security fence with a locked gate.The couple got out of bed to find a man standing in the forward stateroom of the boat, according to the report.Following seven lines of redactions in the police report, the man was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
